The Belize Bureau of Standards (BBS) hosted a Stakeholder Consultation today, January 25, 2019 at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza to discuss the proposed application of a front-of-package nutritional warning labeling on pre-packaged foods as drafted within the CARICOM Regional Standard – Labelling of Foods – Pre-packaged Foods – Specification.
The aim of this consultation is to introduce stakeholders to the proposed front-of-package nutritional warning labelling requirements and to solicit feedback, concerns, and challenges to assist the BBS in formulating a National Position on the inclusion of these requirements in the proposed regional standard.
