In 2021, the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM) Council, formalized the establishment of Metrology Working Group 14 (MWG -14) as part of the SIM Technical Committee. MWG-14 is tasked with developing and driving Metrology for Digital Transformation (M4DT) with a focus on Digital Calibration Certificates; Cloud Technologies for Metrology; Automation of Laboratory Processes; and Metrology for Industry 4.0. This week MWG-14 held its first Face to Face meeting since its establishment. The meeting brought together 25 representatives from across the Western Hemisphere to discuss institutional developments toward digital transformation as well as ongoing and possible projects aimed at utilizing technology to improve measurements and the provision of measurement services.
