The Metrology Officer I of the BBS, Mr. David Guerra participated in a three-day technical exchange program organized by the National Conference of Standards Laboratories International (NCSLI) in Orlando, Florida, USA from 25th to 27th February 2019. Each year, the NCSLI brings together several leading metrology institutions to provide training for experts over a three day period in key thematic areas of metrology, and ISO/IEC 17025. This three-day training came at an ideal time as the BBS has initiated the development of the laboratories in accordance with 17025:2017. It provided the ideal platform to learn from experts in the respective competencies, with the intent to apply concepts gained for effective and sustainable development of the laboratories, compliant with ISO 17025:2017. The two courses in which the BBS participated in were:
- Risk-Based Thinking in Metrology
- Decision Rules: Reducing Risk in Conformance Decisions
