The Belize Bureau of Standards (BBS) along with Consultants Fay Smith and Herbert Haylock hosted a CALIDENA Workshop with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Suppliers and Distributors on Wednesday, 10th February 2021. The CALIDENA methodology aims at stimulating quality in value chains. This methodology is a demand-driven approach which assesses and diagnoses quality infrastructure issues at each level in a value chain, this is inclusive of import specification through to the end-users, incorporating all the various components of measurements, standards, health, safety and the environment and regulatory requirements, among others.
This initiative is a part of the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Programme – Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Component with the objective to increase the use of internationally recognized Regional Quality Infrastructure (RQI) by the regional and national quality institutions and the private sector.
