The Belize Bureau of Standards had the pleasure of hosting two students from the Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic High School for a two-week internship.
These students were introduced to the pillars of quality infrastructure #standards #metrology and #conformityassessment through:
1. Short courses on calibration in fine mass, volume, and non-automatic weighing instruments (scales) and introduction to the mathematical calculations associated with these calibrations;
2. Verification of pre-packaged goods, fuel pumps, and shop scales;
3. Introduction to the Belize National Standards on Pre-packaged Foods, Pre-packaged Goods, and Biodegradable Products with practical exercises on the evaluation of product labels, and verification of biodegradable products
4. Introduction to Belize’s National Quality Policy (NQP)
