As part of the IX Technical and Scientific Cooperation Program between Mexico and Belize, stage two of the project entitled: “Development and strengthening of the institutional capabilities for a functional National Quality Infrastructure” were executed during the period 25th November to 6th December 2019. This component entailed a two-week technical exchange of two BBS metrology technicians at the National Metrology Center (CENAM) in Queretaro, Mexico. The training focused on the magnitudes of mass and volume and estimation of uncertainties involved in their measurements. In addition to fortifying the theoretical and practical knowledge of the technicians, this two-week attachment training has helped to improve critical metrological calculations needed as the BBS prepares the launch of a pilot calibration program in the early part of 2020 leading to the full operationalization of laboratory to offer calibration services in these magnitudes.
