The Committee shall be responsible for the development and maintenance of Standards for Tourism and Related Services and technical regulations in this Sector. The Committee shall be responsible for standardization in the field of tourism services in Belize, which shall include standards and technical regulations for the following areas:

• 3.1 Health & Safety of Archaeological Sites
  1. Health and Safety

• 3.2- High Risk Activities
  1. Recreational scuba diving services
  2. High Angle Activities (zip lining, rappelling, rock climbing and canopy tours)
  3. Water sports
  4. Caving
  5. Cave tubing
  6. Canoeing and kayaking
  7. Horseback riding
  8. Mountain climbing
  9. Snorkelling
  10. Snuba-diving and sea trek
  11. Wind sports
  12. Kite surfing
  13. ATVs

• 3.3- Accommodation (to be further discussed with BTB)

• 3.4- Tour Operators/Tour Guides (to be further discussed with BTB)

• 3.5- Other Related Services:
  1. Hair braiders
  2. Street vended foods
  3. Medical Tourism and Spa and wellness

• 3.6- Music Industry
  1. Festival Tourism

The Committee shall be responsible for the development and maintenance of Standards for Fuels and Lubricants and technical regulations in this Sector in Belize. The Committee shall be responsible for standardization in the field of Fuels and Lubricants in Belize, which shall include standards and technical regulations for the following areas:

1. Specification for Fuels
   1. Aviation fuels –“ compliance with international standards;
   2. Unleaded Gasoline for Motor Vehicles (Premium and Regular); and
   3. Specification for Automotive Diesel Fuel (High & Low Sulphur).

2. Transportation & storage of fuels:
   1. Bulk storage (terminal);
   2. Bulk storage (retail outlets);
   3. Bulk storage (commercial);
   4. Bulk transportation (haulage); and
   5. Bulk Transportation (maritime).

3. Bio-fuels
   1. Ethanol
   2. Bio diesel and
   3. Other (Charcoal)

4. Lubricants
   1. Disposal (tentative DOE input); and
   2. Specification & Certification of lubricants.

5. Identify mechanisms and recommendations for the implementation/compliance of the proposed standards.
