TBT Structure at National Level
The effective implementation of the WTO TBT obligations requires the necessary structures to be in place at the national level as per the figure above. Central government designates the National Standards Body as the EP (BBS) to execute its duties to coordinate TBT related matters and formulating national positions are best addressed by establishing a National TBT Committee which comprises of relevant entities/persons appointed by central government. The EP then coordinates activities along with the TBT committee in collaboration with the other trade organizations, ministries responsible for trade, regulatory departments/agencies, industry, conformity assessment bodies, etc.
